AmPro Path To Mastery

Become a PADI master scuba Diver this year

What it takes

The PADI Master Scuba Diver™ rating is the highest non-professional certification level in recreational scuba diving. It represents a diver who has gained significant experience, expanded their knowledge, and developed a high level of confidence and competence underwater. Divers who earn this rating have demonstrated a strong commitment to continuing education and diving safety while exploring a wide variety of dive environments and skills.

To qualify for the Master Scuba Diver rating, a diver must first be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver and progress through additional training including PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and PADI Rescue Diver certifications. In addition, divers must complete five PADI Specialty Diver courses, which allow them to develop skills in areas such as Deep Diving, Night Diving, Underwater Navigation, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Search and Recovery, or other specialties that match their diving interests.

Experience is also an important part of achieving this rating. Divers must log at least 50 open water dives to qualify for the Master Scuba Diver certification. These dives build real-world experience and reinforce the skills learned throughout their training. Once all requirements are met, divers earn the Master Scuba Diver rating, joining an elite group that represents the highest level of recreational diving achievement in the PADI system.
