PADI NITROX

American Pro Diving Center Enriched Air Diver course consists of approximately three hours of classroom lecture, practical application, and a 25 question quiz. This course can be scheduled for any morning or afternoon in one of our three state of the art classrooms. Although the dive with nitrox is optional we encourage the student to make at least one dive with nitrox.

Most students also combine the Enriched Air Diver course with another specialty course weather it be Advanced Open Water, Deep Diver Specialty, or one of our many daily tours.

Nitrox refers to any gas mixture composed (excluding trace gases) of nitrogen and oxygen. The most common use of nitrox mixtures containing higher than normal levels of oxygen is in SCUBA diving where the reduced percentage of nitrogen is advantageous in reducing nitrogen intake in the body's tissues and so extending the possible dive time and/or reducing the risk of decompression sickness.

During the PADI nitrox Enriched Air Diver course, learn the procedures for no decompression diving with enriched air. Learn to use enriched air dive computers, as well as tables for planning dives within no stop limits and oxygen exposure limits. Also learn about special issues related to the equipment you use with enriched air.

At American Pro Diving Center we can fill any tank, with the proper labeling, using our premixed nitrox fill station (storage system contains 32%). If you desire any other mix, we can partial pressure fill any percentage of nitrox (with proper certification and an oxygen clean cylinder).
