The Padi Discover Scuba Diving Program was designed for people who want a taste of the benefits of being a certified Scuba Diver. A PADI Divemaster or Instructor introduces and explains the use of a mask, fins, bcd, regulator, weight belt and pressure gauge as well as answer any questions that might arise. The Instructor guides in the water and presents skills such as breathing underwater, regulator clearing, regulator recovery, mask clearing and equalization techniques before conducting the Open Water dive where all the fun begins!
While diving on the Rainbow, enjoy the crystal clear water that the spring system constantly produces. Also, an array of wildlife including sunfish, bass, brim, speckled gar, bowfin, painted turtles, miniature snapping turtle, and soft-shelled turtle, as well as the diving cormorant and anhinga birds can be encountered. After getting comfortable at Deep Hole (only 25 feet, the deepest part of the Rainbow River) the divemaster/instructor leads the Discover Scuba participants on a drift dive, where the above wildlife can be experienced.
