Coastal Cleanup Crystal River FLAmerican Pro Diving Center in Crystal River strives to be a leader in environmental protection and community outreach programs. Being the first to write curriculums on Manatee Awareness and Spring and Aquifer education for school presentations to organizing habitat enrichment and coastal cleanups we give Mother Nature a run for her money. What she does with hurricane damage and exotic grass infiltration into our estuaries we stem the tide with our hundreds of volunteers who donate countless hours to make an impact in our local environment Crystal River FL.More treasure hunt than road side cleanup our annual coastal cleanup includes prizes for biggest and most unusual garbage found. All ages and levels of participation are welcome and encouraged. Some choose to work the woods or board walks while others suit up with wetsuits and dive in off the beach for that pesky underwater debris. Even Grandparents volunteer their time helping to man the water station or keep up on the paperwork needed to track the yearly haul. All participants gather back at the dive shop to enjoy a free cookout and swap stories on the day's events. Free T-shirts and ball caps are handed out as well as special prizes earned throughout the day. Many people start the day as strangers to each other but end knowing many new friends who came together if only for one day to make a difference. We'll be here every year, why don't you join us? |
