Blue Grotto DiveThis guided Blue Grotto Dive, in a Florida spring cavern is a perfect divesite for all experience levels because of its great visibility. Descend down with the divemaster the first 70 feet of open water to view a variety of fish, fossils in the limestone walls, and even a friendly turtle. Stop along the dive at 30 ft to check out the air bell that made this Blue Grotto famous. The bell is located at the ceiling of the cavern and is supplied with compressed air from the surface. The air bell is a perfect place to stop and talk to your dive buddy. Yes, even underwater, there is a Florida springs that your buddy can talk to you. Don't talk to long because time in the air bell still counts toward bottom time but the compressed air is free. At 35 ft, powerful underwater lights are attached to the limestone, to light up the divesite so divers have a perfect clear view of this open water springs. After admiring the view, follow the divemaster with your dive buddy descend to 70 feet where peace rock and the cavern start. This limestone rock was marked many years ago with the 1960's symbol of peace and is a great photo opportunity. Descending past peace rock is the start of a permanent yellow guide line that leads around a crescent shaped cavern with a max depth of 100 ft. As the dive ascends out of the cavern, look around and watch the bubbles run up the side of the limestone wall like an upside down waterfall. All needed is an open water certification card and American Pro Diving Centers guided fun, knowledgeable, and professional divemasters / instructors take care of even the simplest things like reminding to stop at 15 feet for the safety stop. While hanging out at the safety stop, admire the beautiful open water springs cavern and the many fish that surround you and make Blue Grotto a Florida springs guided adventure.
